About AKIBA
Academies of Knowledge-Incubation for a Better Africa ( AKIBA) is a National Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), registered by the NGO’s Coordination Board to mobilize knowledge and scale-up innovative solutions to promote access to quality, affordable, equitable and inclusive healthcare, education and adaptive social protection services to vulnerable children, and improve the welfare of their families in diverse contexts in Kenya.
Our Objectives
- Intensify grassroots advocacy through awareness creation and policy dialogues to promote more and better investments in Early Childhood Development (ECD) and foundational learning.
- Mobilize knowledge and innovations through research to promote delivery of Universal Health and Education services for children.
- Promote establishment of community-based campus-clones as Centers of Excellence for promoting universal access to Health, Education and adaptive social protection services.
- Foster collaborative partnerships to respond to emerging issues such as climate change in the provision of quality and affordable health, education and adaptive social protection issues.
- Take such steps by personal or written appeals, private meetings, public meetings or representations to Parliament, government entities and other bodies as may be deemed expedient to promote any of the objects of the Organization.
- Raise, secure and utilize funds for the attainment of any or all objects of the Organization, and to do such other things as are incidental or conducive to the attainment of these objects.
Since 2023, AKIBA has strengthened its resolve to create lasting impact, working collaboratively with local communities, government agencies, and international partners.
